Muslim-produced image of Mohammad

Image source here. This five-storey mural was commissioned by the Iranian Government in 2008.

As this article points out, the tradition of depicting  Mohammad in human form 'is common in Shia Iran, where until recently postcards, pictures and even carpets depicting the prophet could be found on sale.'

POSTSCRIPT: Below is a postcard on sale in Iran in 2001. Prophet holding the Quran. Source. CORRECTION despite what the source says this is not an image of the Prophet. It is an image of Imam Ali ibn abi Talib.

Wow... I had no idea. What hypocrites!

Of course Sunni believe Shia to be heretics; and all of the barbarities caused on the pretext of depicting Mohamed are caused by those who (are/claim) to follow Sunni Islam. So I do not see why the Shia are hypocrites...

I do not like surreal Islamic art, love Middle Eastern architecture but this is beautiful.
