Apart from missing the point of the challenge, they are betraying ignorance of their own church's history. Between gnosticism, Marcionism, Manichaeism and Catharism, the idea of an evil god was central to Christian debates for over 1000 years.deathray32http://www.youtube.com/user/deathray32noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1905686568472747305.post-85365551719042326862012-04-13T11:28:22.084+00:002012-04-13T11:28:22.084+00:00" There was an earthquake in Pakistan where h..." There was an earthquake in Pakistan where hundreds of thousands of children were trapped in a school and died"

I've heard of large class sizes, but this is difficult to believe.xenideshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02527515587503087809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1905686568472747305.post-82668583829863484672012-04-08T21:44:16.919+00:002012-04-08T21:44:16.919+00:00I know happiness because I know suffering. Might it be possible to appreciate, what it is we cannot possibly otherwise experience.

beliefs can be measured over a scale of reasonableness
If I am not aware of something it does not exist. If I believe that something exists it exists. Not really realistic, either of them.

the question is not so much as to whether God exists or does not exist.
But rather, does belief in and of itself serve some useful purpose.
Suppose an atheist and a priest are in a lifeboat adrift in an unfrequented part of the ocean. The atheist knows that rescue is unlikely. The priest knows it is certain. If even fraudulent belief sustains life for one second longer than might otherwise be the case. It has fulfilled a practical purpose.

God gave us free will.
But knows the outcome. Not much entertainment value there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1905686568472747305.post-51877941782880000202012-04-05T11:09:19.956+00:002012-04-05T11:09:19.956+00:00Blog and content in this section of the website ar...Blog and content in this section of the website are really amazing.Pension UKhttp://www.accessyourukpension.es/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1905686568472747305.post-5154119981203671742012-04-01T12:42:33.846+00:002012-04-01T12:42:33.846+00:00This got me thinking (for some reason)...about an ...This got me thinking (for some reason)...about an argument *like* the evil God challenge, but instead being a 'monotheistic God' challenge. Since it seems all the arguments used for a monotheistic God (except the ontological argument) equally confirm polytheism.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1905686568472747305.post-7661365659444600342012-03-31T22:33:47.151+00:002012-03-31T22:33:47.151+00:00Stephen - thanks for sharing this.
